Today, one of the four kittens we were preparing to trap and rescue passed away. She was unfortunately ran over in the parking lot. We suspect she was under a wheel and wasn’t able to get out fast enough and got ran over while a vehicle was pulling out.

I found her stiff and cold and I am devastated beyond words. I was envisioning such a good life and good home for her after trapping her and her siblings.

I feel so much guilt because this wouldn’t have happened if we just trapped her sooner. We’re relatively new to the cat rescue space so we were slower than we were supposed to be. I can’t help but keep thinking about how much pain she would’ve been in. I can only hope that she passed quickly.

I just wanted people to know she was a lovely little girl and she existed in this world and she was loved and she was taken care of. For as long as she was with us, we tried to give her the best we could. She and her siblings and mama cat lived in our yard. The kittens recently started to venturing out into the parking lot. I wish we trapped them sooner. she would still be alive. We are now working hard to trap her other three siblings asap. Mama cat was trapped and spayed.

I am so sorry, little baby girl. I feel like we failed her so devastatingly. I don’t really know how to move on from seeing her little body. I hope you are happy in kitty heaven now. We love you little girl. I’m so sorry.
