Hey! Here's some life advice (for EIE mostly)

Discussion

I'm very aware that I wasn't asked anything and being honest, I'm a bit shy of doing this post :')

But hey! Asking for permission would be even more awkward and typology (especially socionics) make me think that some people will encounter similar problems I had, and pretty much all my life, I did pass over these problems by realizing some stuff and changing my way of thinking.

Ps: English isn't my native language so this may be written clumsily and/or contain a lot of mistakes, I'm sorry for these and I would appreciate to be corrected u.u

Ps bis: A fair number of these are gonna sound awfully simple and pinterest-y, life lessons aren't rocket science, they just are hard to apply.

1 - It's more useful to love a lot than to hate a lot, ultimately. Life is shitty when you repeat yourself that you hate the rain, that you hate that it's cold outside, or too hot, and it makes you desagreable to be around if it's what you express to yourself and others! Learn to love *something* about the things you hate at least, the rain as a pretty sound, it make grass smell nice, the weather allow you to change your clothes and to appreciate some types of meals you wouldn't eat otherwise. There's always something that exist in what's around you to at least temper up your mood ✌️ Be glad of what you have.

2 - Searching who you are is a never-ending quest if you're not being precise with what you're actually searching. People evolve and change the... "content of their self" for a lack of better expression, at almost each thoughts, each stimuli, each experiences. Obviously it's lightly, but are you really the same person you were a year ago? Most of what we are is discovered through our actions anyway, ruminating about it (ESPECIALLY IF IT'S ABOUT "am I a bad person? 😞" OMG) is useless

3 - Take care of your body. Sleep, eat, wash yourself and don't take your own thoughts seriously before it's all fine.

4 - If you don't know what to say in a conversation, speak about them, most people appreciate to hear about themselves.

5 - Genuine joy comes with suffering and vice-versa, true "strenght" isn't about not hurting, but about how fast you're able to put yourself on your feets. Sadness is a byproduct of your ability to care, and you don't ever want to stop caring entirely.

6 - There's comfort in vulnerability, and having a genuine connection with someone else is where it feels the most like home. At some points, it will hurt if it's real, but it's normal. Remember that "having enemies" is a childish concept.

7 - Treat yourself like you would treat your own child, talk calmly to yourself, don't put yourself down because you made a mistake (anyway there's already the world to punish you lol) and do not expect perfection of yourself, just do the best you can and it's fine.

8 - If you're fearful of something that can't/won't reasonably hurt you, do it

9 - Take your time. Own it, "I don't got the time to *little things that make life feels good*" yeah bullshit, everyone, at every moments, can manage to unlock a 30 seconds to say goodbye to your dog before you leave for your job. The best thing you can possibly do for your future is to invest your present to the maximum.

10 - Commitment is a relief. When you actually stops wondering "Should I act one way or the other?" Because you already decided that you would ALWAYS take one choice over the other one, it actually discharge you mentally and make you a better person on the long term.

11 - Rituals, to plan time where something special happen for yourself without anyone else needing to be here, are a way to have an healthy relation with your self.

Please, join in and comment on your own life lessons, I'm genuinely curious about them!
