Is fishing allowed in Montreal? If so where ?

Hi guys!

I’ve never been fishing in my life, but I decided I want to try it this summer as a hobby and to have something to do besides bedrotting all day long.

The thing is, I don’t have a car, so I was wondering if anyone knowledgeable could suggest public fishing spots that are accessible on foot or by public transit. I live downtown, so anything reachable from there would be ideal.

I’ve watched a few YouTube videos about fishing, and I’m planning to buy the basics from Canadian Tire once I know where I can actually go fishing and after I apply for a fishing license.

If you have any tips for a complete newbie, please share them!
