Is it insensitive or offensive to make an LGBT Muslim character?

So for context, I have this oc called Eiwa who is Muslim. The story I had in my mind was that he was in love with his best friend, who is a guy, but feels guilty for it because he is muslim and it is unconventional for muslims to be apart of the LGBT. He experiences religious guilt, and his religion definitely plays into his feelings. But now i’m wondering if that’s insensitive to do, or perhaps a bit offensive. Please help me!
