Crossbars on a 5gen TRD pro roof rack?

I’m looking at buying a 5th generation trd pro. Often we take a canoe on road trips. Does anyone know if you can attach proper towers and bars to the standard trd pro rack? I realize maybe pale recommend replacing the trd pro rack all together, but is there a simpler way to put wide bars on top?
