Thoughts on Revised

I've been playing Axis & Allies since Highschool, about 20 years ago now, mostly revised after a buddy of mine introduced me to Classic. Found a copy at Toys R Us around 2005 and I really appreciated the balance updates as well as the bold, minimalist map. It also introduced some interesting national advantages for repeatability.

Fast forward a few decades and the go to games are Global, 2E and Anniversary. Classic gets thrown in for the Nostalgia and for being the first (sort of).

I've noticed Revised isn't mentioned at Gencon for tournaments and on this sub there isn't a flair for it. Yet I still think it's a great game.

How does Revised measure up compared to 1942 2nd Edition? Is it worth picking up if I already have Revised and Anniversary?
