AITAH for asking another passenger to use headphones?
Today, my wife and I were coming back home from our vacation in Aruba. We had a 1hr connecting flight home and were both in aisle seats across from one another (C & D). After we got seated and everyone was still boarding, she told me she could hear the reels I was watching on my phone. I turned down the volume, but a couple minutes later she said she could still hear it coming out of my headphones. There was no way... So I took them out and listened around. Turns out, the guy on the window seat (A) was watching a movie with no headphones. After we take off, my wife lets the flight attendant know (it's 10:30pm) and I wait to see if she's going to say anything. After a few minutes, I lean over and say "Sir" five times to get his attention. I asked him to please turn his sound off and he responded by asking, "is it really bothering you?" To that, I said, "Yes, it's kind of a headphones only situation." He's obviously annoyed and says fine, before saying he'll get headphones out of his bag in the overhead bin. Then it starts... The whole time me and the girl between us (B) are standing up, he starts chirping. After we sit back down, it still doesn't stop. I told him I politely asked him to use headphones as they instructed before taking off, and he just keeps going on about how I'm putting bad stuff out into the world and now I've got it coming for me 5, 10, 20, even 100x worse. By this point, I've already disengaged, put my headphones back in, and resumed my movie. But he won't stfu and still tries to continue the conversation. Apparently, during all of this, my wife went and got the flight attendant behind us (we're the next to last row) to intervene. AITAH?
