Degrees in hand, empty pockets -Tunisia has no place for us!
Let me paint you a picture.
You spend 5 years grinding through an engineering school, or 2 years getting a master's in something that was supposed to matter whether it's computer science, electrical engineering, biology, civil engineering, whatever. You sacrifice sleep, money, your social life , Your parents tell everyone in the family about you. Then you graduate, and then surprise : nothing lol
You send CVs into a void. You get interviews for positions that pay 800 dinars a month for a senior-level role , you get ghosted , you take internships that go nowhere , you watch your savings (if you even have any) quietly disappear. You calculate how many days you can keep going before you have to ask your parents for money again. You feel 25, 27, maybe 30 years old and completely stuck, like time is passing but nothing is actually moving.
And here's the thing nobody wants to say out loud: the country cannot absorb us. There are no jobs that match what we studied. The private sector is suffocating. The public sector is frozen. Startups here are barely surviving. And the state? The state is broke in ways that aren't getting better anytime soon.
So what exactly are we waiting for? Are we waiting for a reform that's been promised for 15 years? Are we waiting for a miracle investment that will suddenly create 100,000 jobs? Are we waiting to age out of being young and hungry and desperate?
