Chances I get sued for this?
I worked for an India YouTube channel online. I got hacked and I happened to have access to the channel and the hacker made changes to the channel causing the channel to get terminated. Channel had 13k subs and like 6 videos.
Anyway he's blaming me it's my fault and is threatening to file a lawsuit. I live in USA California, he's in India (not sure where). He doesn't have my name although I'm sure he could locate it quite easily or maybe not idk.
Am I cooked? Or is this guy not going to do it? ChatGPT said it'd cost him $20k just to do it. But part of me thinks he's going to.
We didn't have a written contract just a verbal agreement. I do the editing he pay 30% of channel profit. He never even paid me the 30% for the final month he decided not to pay it. And numerous times he's withheld my money for 1-2 longers than a reasonable person would want it. I mean he's not the most innocent human being on the planet but I understand his concern.
He says he has my email audit logs from google/personal IP/data to show it was me. I told him I wasn't even home (I was at work) and my device was obtained somehow and idk how. I legit don't know how it happened but somehow it did and the channel got banned for promoting a crypto scam.
He is now mentioning he is prepared to go financially deep into holding me responsible. I'm not sure how rich he is but I know he makes $4k a month in India from his main India channel on top of sponsors and ad deals so he might have the money.
Should I just ignore it? Can he get my name?
