Large BP fluctuations during the day (125/80 to 150/100) — should I get checked out?
Hi everyone,
I'm wondering if I should be concerned about my blood pressure and heart rate fluctuations throughout the day.
My blood pressure can be in the mid-120s/80s at some points, but at other times I've measured readings as high as 150s/100s. My heart rate also varies quite a bit depending on the time of day and what I'm doing. (resting heart rate at night usually in 60-70s, but during the day its high 90s most of the time. Every time i check my watch its close to 100s or more)
A bit of context:
- I'm 24. Vape alot and drink occasionally
- I sometimes feel anxious about my readings, which probably doesn't help.
- The higher readings are usually not taken immediately after exercise, but they can happen when I'm stressed or thinking about my health.
Is this amount of variation normal, or is a jump from around 125/80 to 150/100 something that should be investigated by a doctor? Has anyone experienced similar fluctuations and found a cause?
Thanks for any advice.
