I think one of the biggest missed opportunities that Persona 4 Revival was how it didn't split physical into three different types like it was in Persona 3/Reload

P4

after watching the Persona 4 Revival trailer and looking at the gameplay and when they select a physical move it looks like the icon like in the orginal Persona 4 / golden where physical is just one type which I think is probably one of the worst things that it happened to combat and persona

I think Persona 4 Revival absolutely had the biggest opportunity to rectify this by bringing back the three different physical types Strike, Slash, and Pierce, and one of the biggest reasons I think I should have came back is the very fact that you cannot just know half the attacks in the game with just something woth Null/Reflect/Absorb passive skill it also bring some more variety into the game that you have to work with three different types of physical attacks and also see which physical elements the enemies are weak or resistant/immune to just like with the magic elements

and I also think that these three different physical types would have made the party members more distinct and that's and this is what different physical types I would give the party members

Protagonist (Yu) - Slash

Yosuke - Slash

Chie - Strike

Yukiko - Slash

Kanji - Strike

Tiddie- Strike

Naoto - Pierce

I think this would have made the types of physical attacks actually matter more because you could each use of the party members different physical attack affinities to down enemies that are weak to that one specific physical type

I'm just disappointed with Atlas not trying to rectify this mistake by giving us three different physical types instead lumping it in into one type and thus as a result Persona 4 has the most shallow and least interesting combat system out of all the mainline Persona games
