In real life there are many species of Earth burrowing wasps and Hornets, and I think that idea would be great and creative and interesting for Mojang to implement into Minecraft.

These nests could be found in Lush Jungle biomes, attached to Lush Cave biomes, underneath Mangrove Swamp biomes and more!

It would be interesting if they added different biome varieties like they did for frogs, for example Asian Giant Hornet inspired wasps in jungles, Mud dauber wasps in Mangrove Swamps, and Yellow Jacket wasps in Lush Caves and anywhere else that happens to generate a nest outside of Jungles and Mangrove swamps.

The nests would be massive, intricate hives that house the wasps themselves, honey (those species don’t make honey but other wasps do, and Minecraft is a game that strays away from reality at times), the larvae in their cells, and the new mini boss “The Queen”.

The Queens chamber is the main part of the nest, acting as an arena to fight her in.

The Queen when in battle will summon wasps to attack while she attacks, she can bite and sting rather than the regular wasps only stinging, the bite deals half a heart of damage and negates all armour and effects applied to that armour (essentially it will ALWAYS be one half heart of damage dealt) and she follows up the bite with three rapid stings. In the last phase of the battle the queen gets desperate and clings to the wall of the queen’s chamber while summoning wasps to attack for her, so you’d have to shoot her with arrows to defeat her.

Upon the queens death she drops her stinger, some royal red honey, and very rarely a Wasp Head which essentially is a trophy you’d have to defeat multiple queens to get.

Eventually a new queen will spawn, as in real life new queens can be made if the queen dies, but it would take between 2-3 Minecraft days to respawn a new queen.

To clarify, wasps themselves don’t drop anything, the honey combs can be interacted with via a glass bottle to obtain honey and over time would replenish the honey. Also, wasps are uncommonly seen outside of the nests, this feature is just to indicate that there is a nest in the area below ground. Wasps and the Queen will kill bees if spotted as a lot of wasps in real life eat bees. (Poor lil guys :(( )

This idea seems very fitting for Minecraft id love to see this as a mod or an update

Biome structure idea, The Wasps Nest!
