Title: Swapped (work edition)
There was once a friend I trusted with everything. She was the first person I ran to when life became overwhelming, the one who listened to my rants, my frustrations, and the stories I never told anyone else. I believed our friendship was built on honesty, loyalty, and understanding. Then came a time when rumors and opinions from others surrounded us. Instead of coming to me and asking for my side, she chose to believe the voices around her. The trust I had given so freely was replaced with doubt. The friend who once knew me better than anyone suddenly saw me through the eyes of strangers. I now understand why people say to be careful about who you trust at work. The person I thought I could confide in ended up believing others instead of coming to me directly. It taught me that while friendship can be found in the workplace, not everyone who listens is truly loyal.
