Until Dawn was my first horror game. What should I play next?

I'm looking for some horror game recommendations from people who were also scared to get into the genre.

I just finished Until Dawn as my first horror game and absolutely loved it. I'm generally a huge wimp when it comes to horror. I get anxious from the anticipation more than anything, and I usually avoid horror games because I worry they'll be too much for me.

What I loved about Until Dawn was that it felt like a great balance between horror, mystery, storytelling, exploration, and player choice. It was definitely scary, but it never felt so overwhelming that I wanted to quit. Instead, it kept me wanting to see what happened next.

Some games I've been considering are:

• The Quarry
• Resident Evil 7
• Dead Space

Would any of those be good next steps, or are there better "beginner horror" games you'd recommend?

I'd love to hear what games helped other horror newcomers ease into the genre.
