Healing from trauma
While I know mental illness is very much real, I do believe the people you surround yourself with plays a HUGE part in how your mind processes. I used to be very scared of becoming close with someone because of betrayal, or that what I told them would be used against me. And of course that’s when trust comes in, but I’ve also learned not to overshare so much either and it’s been a lot better for me mentally. Trust is a valuable thing though and should be given to those who earn it. But I find myself not having to overthink because the company I surround myself with never gives me a reason to, I feel safe in their presence. That’s where true healing comes by being around genuine people.
