The Allahabad High Court has denied bail to an accused described by the prosecution as the main conspirator behind the 2022 Bareilly violence in Uttar Pradesh. According to the court order, the accused allegedly mobilized and incited a large crowd in the name of Prophet Mohammad, leading to violent unrest, stone-pelting, damage to public property, and clashes with law enforcement.

While rejecting the bail plea, the court noted that the material placed on record indicated the accused's alleged involvement in planning and instigating the violence. The bench observed that the allegations were serious in nature and that the accused was purportedly instrumental in gathering and provoking the mob that later engaged in violent acts.

The case stems from violence that erupted in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, in June 2022, during protests related to remarks made about Prophet Mohammad. Authorities registered multiple criminal cases, alleging rioting, unlawful assembly, criminal conspiracy, and attacks on police personnel and public property.
