Gentleman, protective and quiet MMCs

I'm looking for books with protective MMCs who are introverted (not the shy timid ones, quiet and mysterious type) and also gentlemanly. Would do anything for FMC and is always top priority. Bonus point if childhood friends, although not necessary. I'd like it if they don't change their traits throughout the time, examples could be both Roan from A Place To Call Home by Deborah Smith and Nick from The Sweet Gum Tree when they were kids. Pretty desperate to get recommendations lol I don't see much MMCs like those.
