I was targeted by sextortion/blackmail online and I’m really scared and need advice
I (minor) was talking to someone online through a random chat app. He was an adult and started saying really disturbing things and pressured me into continuing the conversation on Snapchat.
During the call he started making sexual and violent claims, including doing things to his little sisters and his friends little sister and tried to get me to send explicit images. I did NOT send anything.
However, I wanted him to trust me so he could tell me more and I could report it to the proper authority. I know this sounds dumb, but he told me to keep my camera on and I did just that so he would trust me. He asked what's the worst thing you've done and I lied and said I bullied someone into kts. (I didn't, it was for dramatic effect)
He then threatened to post a recording of me saying that among other things I lied about and send it to people, and said he would expose me by posting it on twitter unless I sent him pictures. He also made fake claims about knowing my school and tried to scare me. He did however have my address because I forgot to turn imy location off. I reported him to Snapchat and also reported it to law enforcement, but I’m still really anxious that something might be posted.
I know I shouldn’t have engaged as much as I did, and I’m really scared that something I said during the conversation could be taken out of context and used against me. I was trying to understand what was happening and didn’t support anything he said, but now I’m terrified it could look bad if edited or posted.
I haven’t received any proof that anything was actually posted, but I’m still panicking about it.
What should I do next? Is there anything else I should be doing to protect myself? I still have his username but he blocked me. He stopped showing his face once he released his full government name was his Snapchat name. Although, it wasn't a fake account so it's actually his name and he had a 200,000 snap score so it was actually him.
