How can i change or recover from this?

I got fired a while ago during my community college for "workplace violence" although it was a joke taken wrong. Now on my record, it states that i'm fired and nowhere wants to hire me due to that being on record. Now i work as a caregiver with a math degree. I would like a better paying job but seems like it hurts me everywhere i apply to. is there a way that i could get it off my record? or am i stuck reminded of this for life?
