Managed to make two new mistakes with my cast iron in the same week!

Mistake #1: Well, it was bound to happen eventually. I turned on the wrong stovetop element and kept getting more and more impatient in the other room waiting for my kettle to boil while my wonderful seasoning was burned off.

Mistake #2: I absentmindedly reached for a bottle of oil in its usual spot, removed the cap, and........poured white vinegar directly onto my preheated cast iron pan. Habits can be dangerous, at least I don't keep the lighter fluid in the same spot.

Thankfully, my ol' Lodge has survived both attempts on its life and is continuing in active service.
