Too much heel slip but snug everywhere else, any solutions?

It was ineligible to return or exchange unfortunately, one of the cons of purchasing online. It's hard to estimate the heel slip, but I know it is too much, like an inch. Everything else feels perfect though but this is a problem when walking.

I saw some sort of pads that can be put at the base, does anyone know if that works or if there is another solution?
