Anyone here converted a Classic 350 from spokes to alloys?

Mods and Accessories

Looking for some genuine feedback from people who have actually done this.

I'm a 35F rider and ride a 2017 BS4 Classic 350. I bought it back in 2017 and, apart from regular maintenance, have mostly kept it stock.

Recently I've started riding a lot more again and am preparing for some longer rides. While getting the bike checked, I realized the tyres have aged enough that they need replacement anyway. The bike has crossed 25,000 km now.

Since I'm going to spend money on tyres, I started wondering whether this is also the right time to move from the stock spoke wheels and tube tyres to alloy wheels with a tubeless setup.

I spoke to Popular RE at Nana Peth and they told me I'd have to look at aftermarket alloys, which honestly made me a bit nervous. With tyres, brakes and suspension I can understand what I'm buying, but I have no clue how to judge the quality of aftermarket rims.

So I'm hoping to hear from people who have actually done the conversion.

How has your experience been?

- Which alloys did you go for?

- Any issues with balancing or fitment?

- How have they held up over time?

- Would you trust them on long highway rides?

- Looking back, would you do the conversion again or simply stick with spokes and put good tyres on them?

Would really appreciate real-world experiences.

Thanks in advance. πŸ™πŸοΈ

(And yes, I know there are riders who have crossed continents on tube tyres. The older I get, the more I find myself researching everything instead of just riding. πŸ˜…)
