Scooter on Koh Chang

Hi folks, i am currently planning my trip to thailand in September and one big question is how to get around KC.

I've been driving scooter in Thailand for my last 6 vacations, so a fair amount of time, but ONLY on Koh Tao, Koh Samui and Koh Phangan and i think once in Surat Thani.

I hear a lot about Roads on Koh Chang being dangerous as hell, is this the case?

I can easily handle the bike itself and am a very big and tall guy, so controling it is not a problem for me.

Just want to avoid exposure to unnecesarry risks and would love to hear some feedback.
If overall recommendation is to just use Songthaews or Grab no problem as well!
