How do people living alone make real friends in Los Angeles?
I’m 42 years old and live alone in Los Angeles.
One thing nobody told me about living alone is that loneliness doesn’t always come from being by yourself. Sometimes it comes from having nobody to share the small moments with.
I have a good profession, I stay active, I enjoy nature, coffee, long walks, and meeting new people. On paper, life looks pretty good. Yet sometimes I come home after a long day and realize there’s nobody to tell how my day went.
Some days I enjoy the peace and freedom. Other days I miss connection, laughter, and simply having someone who is happy to hear from me.
For those who live alone: what has helped you build meaningful connections and friendships as an adult?
Maybe more people feel this way than we admit.
