So... is it a good idea buying Traktor gear rn?

It seems like nobody knows what will happen with Traktor after inmusic's adquisition. I am planning on buying either an MX2 or a used S4 mk3 (or even an S3). I like everything the S4 offers, but it does not seem worth it since its not midi mappable for software like Djay and if the software is discontinued I guess I can only use my laptop with my license to play the controller. The mx2 would allow me to play other software.. But generally, I wonder if anyone has some extra insight about this and if I should wait for a clear statement.
