I was admitted and officially enrolled (immatrikuliert) in the M.Sc. Materials Science program at TU Darmstadt for Summer Semester 2026. Unfortunately, due to delays in visa processing and document verification at the German Embassy, I have not yet been able to travel to Germany and start my studies.
Recently, the embassy informed me that since the Summer 2026 intake has already passed, I need to submit a new admission letter for the next intake through Int@Visa. This has left me quite confused because I am already enrolled at the university.
Has anyone been in a similar situation?
Will TU Darmstadt typically provide a deferral to the next semester?
Can an already enrolled student receive a new admission/enrolment confirmation for the following intake?
Should I contact the International Office, Admissions Office, or the Materials Science program coordinator first?
What documents should I request from the university to satisfy the embassy's requirement?
