Should I get the iphone 17 or the 16 plus (256gb / 512gb)

I'm switching from android to an iphone and I need suggestions, also should I wait for apple to launch the iphone 18 so the price can go a little lower and I can just go for the 512gb instead of the 256gb one?

I'm only debating between the 17 n 16plus because of the display (size)
