UBC Engineering offer re-evaluation

UBC Admission Question

I recently got into UBC Engineering and I'm a bit stressed about my final grades potentially affecting my offer.

I'm currently taking Calculus 12 and Career Life Education, and I'm projecting around 80% in Calculus 12 and 75% in CLE.

The UBC website states: "For Vancouver campus only: For competitive degrees with course requirements for Grade 12 English or Math (Pre-Calculus 12 for BC students), we will re-evaluate your offer of admission if your final grades have fallen below 80%."

I'm a bit confused by the wording. Does "final grades" refer only to Pre-Calculus 12 or English 12 specifically, or does it apply across all courses? My questions are:

  1. Does Calculus 12 count as a "related course" that would trigger a re-evaluation, even if it isn't a formally required course for Engineering admission?
  2. Would my Career Life Education grade factor into any of these conditions?
  3. Is the 80% threshold referring specifically to Pre-Calc 12 and English 12, or is it a general rule across all final grades?

Has anyone been in a similar situation or have insight into how UBC interprets this? Any help is appreciated!
