My thoughts on the new movie

A decent amount of jokes were solid. Though not much made me really laugh out loud.
Some of the best jokes to me were: the surprise White Chicks cameo, stabbing the the operation body diagram and the reaction from it, the "we couldn't get Kevin Hart, so here's Shaq".

Some stuff went on too long. Marlon made it about himself too much. I like the Shorty character, but he didn't need to practically be the main character of this movie. His screen time should've been cut some and given to Brenda cause she didn't get enough to do.

I've heard some scenes were cut, so I guess that's why, but Hanson's part seemed pointless.
Greg and especially Bobby should've gotten more to do or why even have them back.
The Bobby scene in the trailer is also slightly different to the actual movie and I felt it was better in the trailer.

Dave Sheridan's Doofy didn't feel the same to me. It felt like he was a parody of his own character.

While it was totally expected to have callback jokes, they way overused them.

I get it's a parody and it's not meant to be deep at all, but the ending was kind of convoluted and the kids just dying in a fire is a weird ending.

Also, where was the classic end of getting hit by a car? That's a staple that should stay in to end it.

Some of it just felt like random sketches thrown together.
Also, too many meta jokes.

I'm not opposed to a Scary Movie 7, but I'd hope it's more of its own story. More like the 2nd movie where it's new villains, not a blast from the past type deal. I would be a worried about 7 as well. So I'd hope for a different director. Perhaps Keenan should actually direct this one.
Marlon needs to be reigned in more.

Overall, I didn't hate it. Just a lot bothered me with it. Wasn't a lot of great jokes, but there were decent jokes throughout.

Series ranking and ratings

1. Scary Movie - Masterpiece of the genre. 10/10
2. Scary Movie 3 - It was different of course with the Wayans not part of it, but it's pretty great. I didn't always love it either, but it grew over time. 8.5/10
3. Scary Movie 2 - Had a bit more of the opposite affect as 3. I loved it more, but liked it a little less as time went on. It wasn't as strong of a movie as 1 and even 3, but it's pretty good and quite a lot of good jokes. 8/10
4. Scary Movie 4 - I know people start to kind of hate on the series at this point and well it's still ranked lower, but it's actually pretty good. 6.5/10
5. Scary Movie 6 - To summarize again, just meh on it. 4.5/10
6. Scary Movie 5 - I saw it in theaters. I felt similarly to this as the new one overall. Wasn't completely without laughs, but It's not memorable at all. I never have a desire to watch it again. 2/10
