Please be respectful when seeing The Last Act in cinemas
TLDR: If you are going to see The Last Act in cinemas please brush up on some cinema/theatre etiquette (i.e. keeping your mouth shut and your phone in your bag/pocket), if you’re going to be disrespectful to everyone else in the theatre don’t do it in cosplay that everyone will recognise once you leave the theatre and if it’s your first day on Earth/out in public please write it on your shirt or your face so the rest of us know why you’re acting they way you are.
There will be no spoilers for the movie in this post.
Apologies in advance for my long rant and for the formatting, I am not used to posting on Reddit.
Not sure where to post this but I’ve noticed that a lot of the customers at my local cinema have been complaining this weekend specifically about their experiences while seeing The Last Act in theatres, I myself had to leave the theatre during Episode 8 to inform staff of a group of young people (unsure if they were pre-teens or teenagers, I didn’t care to look at them long enough to tell) in the back corner talking loudly to each other and blatantly using their phones throughout the film.
The staff sent someone in to stand near them for a few minutes and the group got the message but once the staff member left they continued to talk and scroll as if they were watching the movie alone in their living room, two of these people were in cosplay so it was very easy to point them out and recognise them outside of the theatre.
It got to the point where it felt as if someone in the theatre was turning around to shush them every 2 minutes, people do not pay for these tickets to hear you chat with your friends or to see you scroll through your phone because you’re bored. My local cinema has been receiving complaints almost identical to this all weekend: young people attending TADC screenings and talking/screaming/shouting/scrolling because they don’t know how to behave in public or they believe their experience is more important/valuable than everyone else’s’ (obligatory “not all young people, I don’t hate all young people I just find it annoying when people of any age are selfish and disrespectful”).
If you have to talk/be on your phone during the movie please attend a relaxed screening if possible or wait for Episode 9 to be uploaded to YouTube and watch it at home instead of ruining the experience for others and giving the fanbase a reputation among cinema staff like many did with the Minecraft movie.
