AVOID Storyblocks At ALL Cost!

Question

Fellow creators, I'm posting this as a warning. I don't want anyone else to get burned the way I did.

I bought a legitimate full license from Storyblocks for my YouTube channel. Everything looked fine until one of my videos went viral.

The video made $7,000 before I noticed what was happening. I pulled up my analytics and found a copyright claim from Storyblocks on the exact video I had licensed from them. They were taking 50% of all revenue through some "revenue sharing" arrangement I never consented to.

My actual earnings should have been around $14,000. They quietly pocketed the difference.

I reached out to their support team multiple times. Every time, they deflected and shifted blame back onto me, even after I handed them full licensing proof. Eventually I had no choice but to get a lawyer involved and send formal legal notices.

It made no difference. They refused to return a single penny.

And I was not the only one. Creators like Internet Anarchist have reported running into the exact same thing.

The pattern speaks for itself: Storyblocks lets you build your channel, waits for something to blow up, then swoops in with a claim to take a cut of your revenue. This is not a glitch or an oversight. This is their business model.

Stay away from Storyblocks. There are plenty of stock footage providers out there that won't come for your earnings the moment your content starts taking off.
