Recent update and instructions pwned my pc - but I was able to fix it
I have an ASUS TUF gaming X-570 MOBO with a AMD Ryzen 7 5800X Processor, an RTX 4070 GPU.
I have windows 10 and I had secureboot enabled and those settings to use faceit before, but they had me enable this setting in my BIOS, under CPU configuration to enable SVM. Did that booted again and when I launched anticheat blue screened and then the nightmare began.
Took working with Google Gemini AI for like 5 hours but I was able to fix my computer to (what seems to be mostly) normal. Couldn't even get a normal boot to work, only safe mode, kept blue screening over and over again; even safe mode with networking caused it to blue screen. step by step removed everything related to faceit, all drivers etc. Changed settings in BIOS over and over again, step by step made improvements safe mode with networking worked and then eventually got into normal desktop and then after logging in blue screened (before it would blue screen before even showing me the normal login). but after disabling IOOMU doing some CPU voltage settings , secureboot settings, disabliing hypervisor in CMD etc (all these steps at different times) having to uninstall my GPU drivers from safe mode which was able to reinstall in normal desktop automatically and then got game ready drivers clean install, now running CS2 and my normal desktop just have to re sign into google on my browser
TLDR this update is insane and basically bricked my PC until I did a billion complicated steps with the help of AI (and needing to specifically prompt and remind it properly to get the best info) .
Unreal.
watch out and make system restore points/backup your drive before doing this.
never will i lightly change my BIOS settings when dealing with these kernel anticheats
also got rid of riot vanguard for good measure as well (even that didn't instantly fix it + getting rid of faceit drivers)
did also have to use a USB with windows boot but luckily didn't have to reinstall windows, used that to access a command prompt to fix the boot loader.
