Need advice: BPI payroll account confusion (old SaveUp vs new account for onboarding)
Hi everyone, I need some help regarding my bank account for payroll.
I previously opened a BPI SaveUp account online on March 17, 2024, but I never really used it or accessed it, and I also lost access to online banking. Recently, I received a dormancy notice from BPI, so I think the account might already be inactive or dormant.
I also tried opening a new account through the BPI app, but it says I already have an existing customer profile, so I can’t proceed since I don’t have my old bank details anymore.
Now I’m onboarding for a new employer, and they require a payroll bank account (ATM/debit card type for salary crediting).
Although I’m planning to visit the nearest BPI branch for this concern, I would still really appreciate any advice or answers here.
My questions are:
- Should I go to the branch to recover/reactivate my old SaveUp account first, or is it better to just open a new savings account?
- If I open a new account, what is the fastest type that works for payroll and comes with an ATM/debit card?
- Do I need a minimum deposit to open a payroll-ready account?
- Will employers usually accept SaveUp accounts, or do they prefer a regular savings account with ATM card?
Any advice from people who have been in the same situation would really help. Thank you!
