College ebike recommendations

Hi, first time poster here. So, I've been cycling nearly everywhere in town on a normal bike all throughout highschool. I'm graduated now and going to college, I can drive but I don't enjoy it, plus the place I'm going for college is notorious for hellish traffic and bad drivers. I want to get an Ebike. I'm looking for something around 1,000 or less but I could be convinced to go a bit over if someone really ride or dies for specific bike. I need something reliable that can be ridden everyday, something safe as far as Ebikes go, that is good for any terrain you'd reasonably encounter in a city, that is good for a good distance on a full charge, and that can go decently fast. I have a few months to do some research so any recommendations are welcome. Thanks!
