Scalp acne?
I’m waaay too old for this. 😂
I’ve always had oily skin and hair, and have mostly been an every day shampooer due to necessity; if I don’t wash, my hair typically looks oddly crimped, flat, greasy, and gives a hideous case of bed head as it can’t survive being slept on gracefully. However, I’ve found that if I put enough product in it and then use a ponytail and a baseball hat for day 2, I can get away with washing every other day.
Having said that, I’m just home from a two week trip camping in a remote location. There was no way to wash my hair daily, but I made do by washing every other day. The trouble is, I now have acne at the nape of my neck in my hair. ICK. I wasn’t sweaty, I never got or felt dirty. Is there a way to prevent this in the future?
(FWIW, I’ve tried every dry shampoo out there and haven’t had any luck with any of them (unlikely that would even help here). They usually make my (very fine) hair feel dry and gunked up. Even IGK’s weakest dry shampoo, which should be perfect for my hair, is problematic, as it only feels like I sprayed my hair with hairspray and not dry shampoo, but every other formula is far too strong. It’s a very weird conundrum as my hair is too fine for a lot of them, yet not fine enough for some.)
I know I’m not the only one with this issue, but I have no idea how to prevent it. Can I use a facial toner on my scalp (which also means getting it in my hair)? Alcohol (which is drying and probably not great for my hair)? Something else?
