I'm not sure if my gift will be unwanted.

My friend is pregnant with her first baby and her baby shower is this weekend. She has a registry that has been public for a while now and said in our group chat (her-expecting mom, two other friends-both moms, and me-childless but trying) that she's worried that people aren't buying from the registry and she will end up with unwanted/unneeded items. One of the other moms in the group chat said the same thing happened to her at her baby shower and she ended up with "a million blankets she ended up donating".

Here's where I'm worried. I DID buy something off her registry and it was already delivered to her and she has thanked me for it, but I also crocheted her a blanket that was meant to be an extra surprise the day of her shower. Months ago I asked the other two friends in the group if I should make her a stuffed animal or a blanket and they both said blanket and I trust their opinions because they've both known her longer. She will know it's handmade as I am an avid crocheter and have made her gifts in the past, but is it a selfish gift if it wasn't specifically asked for?
