Thoughts on Therme Wien in Vienna
I visited Therme Wien in Vienna last week. Here are a few thoughts:
-
The facility wasn’t super crowded. The sauna part was separated into three different parts— Herren, Damen, and Combined
-
My wife went to Damen. I went to Herren. I would say the gender specific parts were easily the most attended. It was no big deal—as it should be. I felt completely safe. I even chatted with an Austrian fellow.
-
I did attend the combined gender part for about ten minutes. My wife was very uncomfortable. I will admit, I felt more comfortable in the same sex section. Most of the make up of the crowd was older people above 60s. There were very few women. It was mostly older men who attended.

I had a good conversation with a Finnish friend about different sauna customs. Overall, I still think non sexual nudity is no big whoop and I hope it continues in Europe
I didn’t get the chance to attend Therme Erding in Munich, but I assume it would be fairly similar.
