So what do I do in this game?

Sorry if the headline is so abrupt but I am a bit clueless. I played this game for about 90 hours back in 2023(?) I suppose, it was before Janthir expansion. I mostly played pvp, had my WvW mount, I completed path of fire and had my mounts, I did some fractal and strikes but I remember nothing else, particularly engaging PvE stuff, what I did felt very easy.

I am planning of returning to the game now with GW3 and HoM on horizon but I fear how this time will go with the horizontal progression. I also don’t have means to buy new expansions so I also fear if I will miss out on so much without new specs, and weapons and skyscale(?) What are your suggestions for return and if you picked one of the last three expansions, which one would be your choice?

PS. I looked at some builds that sounded interesting to me and they all seem like using Soto combinations or Janthir spear? I feel at a loss really. I feel like there is not so many reasons to return if I don‘t buy all of them.
