Vanessa and Monty's relationship is a tired trope

It's basically Romeo and Juliet two people from two feuding families fall in love and must overcome the odds. It was romantic the first few times someone did it but now it's overused. I really wish they hadn't done it especially because this show is usually so creative it screams lazy writing.
