[34][F] Severe pelvic pain, dyspareunia, and dysmenorrhea. Normal labs & dismissed adenomyosis. What specialist should I see next?

Hi everyone,

Female 33 years old here.

I am currently looking for guidance on what kind of specialist I should see next or what this could potentially be. For the past three months, I have seen multiple doctors, but all we do is run tests—which always come back normal—and the investigation just stops there.

My symptoms:

My main issue is that I experience pain and a burning sensation during intercourse, often followed by lower abdominal/pelvic pain afterward. I also suffer from extremely severe menstrual cramps.

Tests and history so far:

MRI (Endometriosis protocol): The results indicated possible early-stage adenomyosis, but because the uterine wall thickness is only 6mm (which doesn't fit standard diagnostic criteria), my gynecologist completely ruled it out.

Bloodwork: Comprehensive hormonal panels and thyroid tests are all perfectly normal.

Infection screenings: A 14-strain HPV panel and an 11-strain STD panel both came back entirely clear.

Surgical history: I had a cervical conization in 2024. My doctor examined the area and confirmed everything healed well and there is nothing suspicious.

I feel like I have run out of tests to take and I am completely stuck. I have already seen two different gynecologists, and both seemed a bit overwhelmed and out of their depth with my case.

What specific medical specialty should I look into next to investigate this further? Does anyone have any insight into what might be causing this? I would deeply appreciate any advice or recommendations you might have.

P.S. I am posting this from my boyfriend's account. Thank you!"
