Does insulin resistance starts early as well if GDM started 12 weeks?

Do I experience similar level of resistance as people who gets it after 28-30 weeks? or it will go higher once I get to 30 weeks? Dr said I am controlling it well right now with 3 spikes above 140 in a week. I got 5.7 A1C at 11th weeks so not sure if I have prediabetes before pregnancy or affected by GDM.
