Question for Xbox Players

Hello! I've been playing the game and really enjoying it. I'm not very far into it at all (I play quite slow), and have been wanting to play with one of my friends who is on xbox (I'm on PC). They have a bug that says they can't use multiplayer, which is kinda annoying.

At first this was like a day or 2 after release and we both thought it was a platform wide big that would quickly get fixed. It is still like this and I am starting to think it might be just for him. Has anyone else had this bug/ know how to fix it?
