Questionnaire goes out this week: every candidate in our August races has until July 2 to respond

This week, we are sending questionnaires to candidates in the Governor's race, U.S. House KS-3, Attorney General, and all 12 Kansas House districts covering Overland Park. Candidates have until July 2.

Answers publish verbatim at opvoice.org, attributed, next to every other candidate in their race who participated. No scoring, no editorializing. Candidates who don't respond get one line: "Invited to participate. No response received."

Races covered:

- Governor (open seat)

- U.S. House KS-3

- Attorney General (Kobach vs. Mann rematch)

- Kansas House districts 8, 16, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 27, 28, 29, and 48

Four questions go to every candidate, plus two specific to their race. Candidates with very different politics can both give strong answers. By design. Happy to share the questions in comments if there's interest, but the real product is the answers.

Two dates worth having:

- voter registration for the August primary closes July 14.

- Primary is August 4.
