Our HR "Department" is 1 person and she's hostile

Im a poker dealer at a cardroom and have been here for over 5 years now. For my entire 5 years, have experienced nothing but hostility from our HR lady. She's absolutely unhelpful, absolute condescending, lazy at times, hypocritical, and can't understand that people are human and FORGET things.

To her, forgetting to remember to clock back in from lunch isn't an excuse since most people don't forget. She acts as if all us employees do this on purpose just to get write ups from her.

In any case, about 95% of my coworkers all share similar sentiments about our HR lady and we can't even go to the GM because even HE shakes his head when it comes to her and her decisions. Everyones afraid of her and as of recent, she's been going on a rampage firing everyone who receives a 5th violation whether its attendance related, time clock issues, or performance issues.

Prior to January 2026, everyone whos been here never got fired for violations, they got suspended after 5. But now shes made the arbitrary decision to change from suspension to firing everyone instead.

Weve lost 3 employees within the last 2 weeks whom were very respected and well liked, and very professional minus some violations of course.

I Understand that HRs sole purpose is to protect the company's interest however, ironically, getting rid of these specific employees is actually hurting us more than helping us even if firing these individuals is on principle from her standpoint. I feel that there's significantly better ways to send a message and to correct pattern behavior.

Sorry if this is long-winded. I'm trying to do is before there's any more bloodshed I'm trying to see if there's some things we can do as employees because we all are really at the loss at how much of a controlling dictator HR person is.

And lastly just want to reiterate that absolutely everyone has an issue with her and it's not an exaggeration. My peers as in other dealers, floor managers, our servers, And as I said earlier, Even our GM.

Something needs to be done but I'm just one person and I don't know what to do. If I went to the owner I think that would be fruitless because he's old-fashioned and he'd probably think I'm exaggerating and I risk getting retaliated against.
