I spent weeks researching adult loneliness before building anything. Here's what surprised me.

I made a rule before writing a single line of code: understand the problem first. So I spent weeks in Reddit communities, Facebook groups, and Quora threads just reading and listening. No pitching. No agenda. Just trying to understand what people are actually going through.

Here's what stopped me in my tracks.

Adults in their 30s and 40s are lonelier than seniors. I assumed this was an elder care problem. The data said otherwise.

The people scoring highest on loneliness scales weren't the ones who lost friends or went through hard breakups. They were the ones with no hobbies. No shared interests meant no natural way in.

Loneliness carries the same health risk as smoking 15 cigarettes a day. Over 130 million Americans say they lack meaningful companionship. This is a public health crisis we've collectively decided to ignore.

So I started building something. Not an app to scroll. Not therapy. Just a way to connect lonely adults with vetted humans who commit to showing up consistently. The website is live, the interest list is growing, and I've had real conversations with people who are hurting and just want to feel seen.

I'm not naive enough to think one platform solves loneliness. That's a massive claim. But I believe we can make consistent human connection accessible to people who feel completely out of reach of it. That feels worth trying.

Still early. Happy to answer questions.
