Wanting to get back into flying , any tips for PPL is appreciated

Flight Training

Ive been bored and overworked with my career and ive been thinking about going back to school to do something with a privote pilots...Same story as a lot of others ive heard before, went to flight school while I was in highschool and ran out of grant money right before my last check ride, written and last solo from what I remember but I was training for commercial at the time so I have double the hours required for PPl.

Ive been trying to brush up on CFR requirments and all that and just wanted to make sure my checklist is on point before I walk into ATP asking for stuff lol

For being current again...

  1. 3rd class medical still a thing? Or is it all 1st class now?

  2. I have about 80 hrs and I think the requirement is still 40. With all the other stuff ive done, I think i only need to do my check ride and to pass the written? My school reuired a 95% to pass at the time but I think nationally its 75%?

  3. Is online ground school worth it? I think i would want to take a whole class again because its been so long but not sure how much has changed in thst area

  4. I couldn't find how many hours it would need for me to become current again in the air. Would it be recommended to take any flight training courses before just asking a instructor to take me out for a time or two? Sorry this last one was a 2 part question lol

  5. Is it worth it? Ive always just thought about finishing at least my ppl for hobby reasons but I still wanna do something career wise to get it out of my system but I dont think I could handle the commercial stuff anymore like I used to feel.

Thanks yall!
