Which way do you place the toilet seat paper cover in public restrooms?

You know those thin paper toilet seat covers you find in public restrooms and planes etc ..for hygiene. They all have that annoying middle part you need to detach. which way do you place it? Facing the front (so you pee on it) or facing the back (so you poop on it)… or do you rip it off completely? It’s been bugging me for a while, which is the optimal way? How was it designed to be used? Thank you for your insights.
