IPL after electrolysis?

I’m considering electrolysis for a large area, specifically my thighs. I’m afraid of paradoxical hypertrichosis (stimulated hair growth), which is why I don’t dare to try laser.

I’ve found a reliable electrologist who charges a reasonable price. However, treating the thighs would probably take at least a couple of years. I’m worried about what happens if the treatment is left unfinished, for example, if my electrologist raises her prices significantly later on (she’s only been in the business for a couple of years), moves away, or closes her practice.

I’m wondering what would happen if I used an IPL device on an area where, say, 50% of the hair has already been removed via electrolysis. In a worst-case scenario, could IPL stimulate the hair follicles and actually increase hair growth?
