[COI general] What was the first moment in Lord of the Mysteries that genuinely broke your heart?

Old Neil wasn't my favorite character at first.

Then he was gone.

That's when I realized how much I'd taken him for granted.

I always thought he'd just be part of the background—the eccentric old Nighthawk who taught Klein and constantly complained about money.

Looking back, he was carrying an unbelievable amount of pain the whole time.

That chapter absolutely destroyed me, and honestly hit a lot harder than I expected.
