because they say Elena was making it about herself when she was saying she gets it by talking about her own experience when her humanity was off even though she was trying to help caroline after what she did to Sarah and talking about and using your own experience isn’t making it about yourself and stfan did the same thing that Elena did in fact he did it before to Elena when her humanity was off telling her about his experiences when his humanity was off and he did the same thing with caroline so fans especially Elena hates own logic he was making it about himself which he wasn’t and Elena wasn’t either but you don’t hear or see them saying he was making it about him himself which means they either or hypocrites or they were just looking for reasons to hate Elena and call her selfish and self centered
